Freedom Joint Drops by Pup Labs are a liquid joint supplement for dogs sold online. The honest verdict from the sources we could check: plausible ingredients, unproven results, and no published amount for any ingredient. Reviews are mostly positive, but the ingredient lists differ between sources. If you want a liquid you can compare line by line, liquid glucosamine for dogs from Pure Majesty Pets combines glucosamine, chondroitin and MSM in a dropper-dosed formula, with free shipping worldwide, including Australia.
We have not tested the product ourselves and only know its formula as far as the cited sources state it. Always read the label on the bottle you receive.
What is in Freedom Joint Drops?
One independent review lists hyaluronic acid, glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM and quercetin; a retailer page lists hyaluronic acid, flavonoids, MSM, vitamin B12 and magnesium. Neither gives an amount per serving. For a closer look at the question raised here, read Gupta 2012: How 10 mg of UC-II Beat 3,600 mg of Glucosamine + Chondroitin in Dogs (Force-Plate Confirmed).
Do they work?
We found no published trial of the product. A 2022 systematic review reported a marked non-effect of glucosamine-chondroitin products on pain in canine and feline osteoarthritis (PMID 36142319), and a 2023 placebo-controlled trial in 75 dogs found no clear difference at six weeks (PMID 36816197). Evidence for MSM, hyaluronic acid and quercetin in dogs is limited. Expect a modest, gradual and variable effect; see best glucosamine for dogs. Considering CBD as another part of a comfort plan? The CBD oil comparison lets you compare mg per mL and testing details before discussing a product with your veterinarian. How much weight should you give the reviews?
Little. There is no control group, many sit on the brand's own page or in commission-earning articles, and improvements around weeks three to eight overlap with the natural ups and downs of arthritis. Keep notes on stairs, morning stiffness and walk length instead. If coughing is limiting a walk, raise that separately from the mobility or stamina question. Our respiratory supplement comparison explains this product category and its limits after the cause has been assessed.
Liquid or chew?
A liquid is easy to dose by weight and suits dogs that refuse tablets. In the only crossover study comparing formats in dogs, a liquid glucosamine peaked in the blood in under an hour versus four to five hours for tablets, with similar overall absorption (Maxwell et al., JAAHA 2016;52(2):90-94). Eight dogs do not prove better comfort. For the comparison criteria behind this choice, see Liquid Glucosamine for Dogs in Australia: Better Than Chews?. The hip and joint chews for dogs name 17 actives in one daily chew, including the hyaluronic acid and quercetin Freedom Joint Drops are described as containing, plus undenatured type II collagen and green-lipped mussel. That is breadth of formulation, not a proven result, and neither brand publishes milligrams per ingredient on its product page, so ask before you buy. Browse the dog joint hip supplements collection. If collagen is one of the joint-support ingredients you are comparing, use the collagen comparison by type and dose to distinguish peptides from undenatured type II. When to see your vet
A supplement is not a treatment. See your vet promptly for limping on one leg, yelping when touched, swelling, sudden stiffness or loss of appetite. In Australia, veterinary medicines are regulated by the APVMA and prescription pain relief for dogs is available only through your vet, so ask before combining a new supplement with any medication.
